Message of Mgr Denis Moutel, bishop of Saint-Brieuc and Tréguier
Lundi 7 juillet 2014

Welcome and nice summer 2014 !

With the catholics of the diocese of Saint-Brieuc and Tréguier, with all the people who live and work here, I welcome you.

Argoat (land) and Armor (sea) : the beauties of nature and riches of our religious patrimony give us some times some pride but it is the meetings we could have with you that will fill us up and will enrich us : when you will ask for information, when you will enjoy a guided visit and most of all, when you will meet with us for the Sunday celebration or for one of the “pardons” of summer.

We really wish you to take a good rest, if you are on holidays. It is salutary to slacken, to “take a rest”, to get rid of the connections that obstruct our day life.

To his disciples who came back from a mission, Jesus said these few words : “You people, come aside, in a desert place and rest a little” (Mark 6,31)

Appling so slowness, you will more able to meet others, your near relations, and all the people you will come across on the market places, the shops, the festivals. We really need to live concretely brotherhood, whose less degree is heartiness and politeness.

Thanks to be our sisters and brothers of summer. Coming to visit us, you will be foreigners in none of our Christian communities : in the Church of Christ, we are all from the same family and thus, you are at home.

Thanks to participate actively to the eucharistic celebration an others meetings of faith, every times it is possible for you ; you will make us rich with all the Lord gives you in your dioceses and your native parishes.

May this stay in the diocese of Saint-Brieuc and Tréguier be pleasant. May it enrich your hearts and minds.

May the Lord bless you and give you His peace !

Denis Moutel
+ Bishop of Saint-Brieuc and Tréguier
